On August 06. two of Europe's oldest and most successful professional soccer clubs will meet for the first time in North America when AC Milan and Panathinaikos FC play at the Silverdome.A total of 17 players between the two teams will have competed for their national teams at the FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa, including players for Brazil, France, Ghana, Greece, Holland, Hungary, Italy and the United States.

Dzięki Cristiano Ronaldo wielu zwolenników ma Portugalia, wielbiciele Wayne'a Rooneya wypiją morze piwa za Anglików, a wszyscy kochający Leo Messiego zedrą gardło na meczach Argentyńczyków.
Kibicować można też zespołom grającym futbol piękny. W RPA nadzieje na wrażenia estetyczne dają jak zwykle Holendrzy i Hiszpanie, ale szansę na zwycięstwo daje się już tylko tym drugim.
Obok nich jak zwykle wśród faworytów wymienia się niezniszczalnych Niemców i Brazylijczyków, choć od zatrudnienia trenera Dungi nikt nie nazywa już ich gry ?joga bonito?.
